New Committee Formed to Address Hardship Relief for HOA Assessments
UPDATED 11/16/24. While there was not a quorum to conduct official business at the November 16th meeting, several items of interest were discussed. The Board is considering a hybrid type of meeting which would allow members to attend via Zoom or at a physical meeting room. Some members do not have computers or smart phones that would be necessary to attend a Zoom meeting.
________________________________ 10/19/24 The Board would like to move to Zoom meetings rather than rent a meeting room. At the October meeting, a hybrid model was suggested so as not to disenfranchise people who do not have the equipment or desire to attend electronically. This topic will be discussed again at the November meeting.
UPDATED 8/21/24. At the July meeting, a member stated that he had been working with Rick White before he passed and they had been close to setting up a pathway to get the county to take over Cottonwood Lane from the 4SP boundary to the highway. At the August meeting, the Board said they had not followed up, but agreed we should do a study to determine if the cost of getting the road up to standard would be more than maintaining it in perpetuity. More information will be published as we get it.

Updated 10/21/24. Trustees and Officers were nominated at the October 19th meeting. There will be an interim election for two positions which will replace Trustees who are leaving prior to the end of their terms. Look for a Board Newsletter later this week for more information.

Update 9/21/24: The bridge committee headed by Mark Zinicola has completed all repairs to the metal on the bridge at a cost of approximately $2,300.
HOA Trustee and Member Meetings are held at the Port Angeles Food Bank's meeting room just west of Walmart. See the Meetings page for more information.
Update 11/25/2024: The Board stated at the August meeting that the camera would be removed. As of November, it has not been moved. We have the choice of being petty and taking the thing down ourselves, or allowing the board to continue to flout the law. The audio recording feature appears to be prohibited by Washington State law where persons being recorded have not consented and have a reasonable expectation of privacy.
UPDATED 8/21/24. A new Washington State law prohibits landowners from claiming adverse possession against commonly-owned properties. Therefore, it seems that the need to prevent adverse possession is moot. Hopefully, our HOA Board will amend its actions so that all owners are treated equally and no one is subject to selective enforcement and intimidation. You may or may not be aware of the ongoing issue related to owners placing fences on HOA-owned property (60' wide roadways co-owned by all of us). Some go without notice, others are heavily fined.
UPDATED 8/9/24. These historic satellite views are available on the Clallam County Assessor's website and on Google Earth, but here are some shots of our beautiful neighborhood over the last twenty years.
UPDATED 8/17/24. One section of the fence appears to have been vandalized, but there was no permanent damage. Brian and other members have put it back up with a slightly different configuration. So far, all costs have been charged to the water system budget. See photos and updates on the Powerline Easement page.
Our canyon makes us particularly vulnerable to fast-moving fires, mudslides and flooding. Ken has unique and extensive experience in search and rescue, emergency communications and all phases of that staying alive stuff.
